Understanding how and when to use Activation code

I have to move from a computer that has died to another. 

I phone the number iin the Uk and a very helpful lady asked questions and got my information and then asked for certain numbers which I gave her to show I was registered in the system.

After a few minutes she gave me a validation code..

I do not quite understand how to use that code to open my Quickbooks programme. I have to get a new computer but need to know what the procedure is to update my situation.once I

Which QB Desktop year version did you use? You need to reinstall QB on your new machine and restore your company file.

Thanks for that I will do but surely at some stage I must use the Activation Code. The Desk top was 2010. Until the computer problems started it was working perfectly.

You have to prepare these ones

1. Installation Code and Product Code

2. Installer file for QB Desktop 2010

 

During the installation process, you will be asked to enter your activation code.

 

If you want to reinstall QB on Win 10 or 11, your version is too old. Consider having a newer version with a non subscription license to upgrade your file.
