uploading older bank transactions

Hi, I need to upload my bank transactions for the 18-19 tax year. I've downloaded a midata(csv)  file from my bank but the file won't upload. It says "darn, file upload failed, probably our fault. Give it another try. If it happens again you may need to contact us." so here I am.

It also appears that Santander will only let me download the last 12 months if choosing to download in csv format :-/

Just discovered the problem I was having was the file was in a different CSV format, so although the extension .csv was the same, QB didn't read it.

 

You have to make sure it is in 'Comma Separated Values' .csv.

 

ExCel for me was defaulting to 'CSV UTF-8 (Comma Delimited) (.csv)' which doesn't read on QB.

Hiya, do you know how to save the file into the correct CSV? I have so far downloaded as PDF (thanks HSBC!), converted into excel and am now saving into CSV but QB won't accept it.

I can see various versions of CSV options when I go to save it, but none work. I can't see one that just says 'comma separated values'.

I've been having the same issue but only this evening. I uploaded another CSV file yesterday evening no problem. It could be a server error QB end if multiple users are seeing the same error.

It appears my main problem is that Santander will only let me download csv files for the last 12 months but I need to go back further. I can download QIF, pdf, text, or xls in any date range but not csv. Seems annoying that QB can't upload its own QIF files. Does anyone know how I can convert any of these other files into csv? I have a Mac without excel...
