Question

We need to migrate to QuickBooks Standard or Advanced payroll this month, if we wanted to upgrade to Advanced or downgrade to Standard is that possible in the future?

Hi matt108

If you migrate to standard and then wish to upgrade/migrate to advanced then we will be able to action this for you however you will have to contact the telephone support line. If you upgraded/migrated to Advanced and then wanted to migrate/downgrade to standard we will also be able to action this for you however if you have been using any of the features listed below the standard payroll will not accommodate them and therefore you will not be able to continue to use them.

  1. pay schedule, standard is only able to accommodate weekly and monthly pay schedules
  2. manual pension (not AE)
  3. court orders
  4. salary sacrifice
  5. pre-tax deductions
  6. pay date outside of pay schedule
  7. end date of the last pay period of the tax year, outside of the tax year (eg. 01/04/2020 - 30/04/2020, pay date 05/04/2020 - technically period for tax year 2019/20, but because the end is in 2020/21 can't move to SP
  8. for start date too (eg. 01/04/2020-30/04/2020, pay date 06/04/2020, technically period is part of 2020/21, but the start date of the period is in 2019/20
  9. Directors who were paid as employees during the tax year and then as directors
  10. Child care (which is technically salary sacrifice)
  11. Ongoing absence with no AWE
