When I set Quickbooks to automatically track my mileage it never works in the morning on the way to a job but then sporadically works during the day?

I have some troubleshooting steps for you, @kitbolton, so your device track trips accurately.

 

We can review the general location settings on your phone or tablet to ensure that the QuickBooks mobile app can run in the background. Since it only tracks trips when it's open and active on your screen.

 

To check your device location settings, see the below steps:

 

On iOS (iPhone and iPad):

  1. Go to your iPhone or iPad's Settings.
  2. Scroll down and select the QuickBooks app.
  3. Select Location
  4. Choose Always.
  5. Turn on the Motion & FitnessBackground App Refresh, and Cellular Data options.
  6. Close your settings.
  7. If you see a message about background location use, select Always AllowNote: Don’t select the While Using the App, or Only While Using options. These prevent the app from tracking your mileage consistently.

 

On Android (phone or tablet):

  • Use Google's steps to ensure QuickBooks can run in the background since Android devices have slightly different operating systems and the steps vary by device.
