Why am I always getting this error when I snap receipts on my phone, or upload PDFs from my computer?"An application error has occurred while processing your request"

For the last few days now when I'm snapshotting receipts or uploading PDF's I am getting the error in the question. This has never happened before. I've tried refreshing cache's and other things. It's quite annoying when I'm trying to do lots of admin.

I completely understand your concern, and I'm here to assist you in resolving this issue as quickly as possible. 

 

When the application experiences functionality issues, one possible root cause is the app's data. To address this, let's perform a reset, which serves the same purpose as clearing your phone browser's cache. Please follow the steps outlined below for this process.

 

For Android devices: 

 

  1. Select the menu at the top right.
  2. Choose Settings
  3. Press Refresh Data and select Yes.

 

In your Phone Settings: 

 

  1. From your phone's settings, tap Apps (varies by device).
  2. Select the QuickBooks app from the list and select Storage.
  3. Tap clear data.

 

After completing the process, please reboot your device and then reopen your QBO mobile app to verify the changes.

In the meantime, you may consider uploading receipts in your QBO account using a web browser. 

 

If you're unable to upload PDFs from your computer, I suggest logging in to your QBO account on a different or private browser. This is to isolate any web browser concerns. You can use any of these shortcut keys to access one:

 

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
