Question

Why have you stopped support for MetroBank? The CMA Regulation for Open Banking ONLY applies to the top 9 largest UK banks!! I'm not about to do manual uploads.

I'd like to make sure you're able to get your bank connected into QuickBooks Online, lesterw1.

QuickBooks Online displays the list of supported banks or financial institutions in the Banking setup page. Your bank has multiple names on our list. You'll want to search for the bank URL or try all the possible links.

Here are the steps:

  1. Go to Banking > Connect account.
  2. Enter the bank/card name or a URL.
  3. Look through the results to find your bank or card.

If you're unable to find your bank, you can click the Request support for your bank button. I've got this article for reference: Find your bank account when you connect to online banking.

I'll be around if there's anything else you need. Thanks.

Hi,

Unfortunately, YOU discontinued support for MetroBank under the guise of regulation.  See the bank list here:

https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-uk/banking/understanding-if-you-can-upgrade-your-bank-feeds-to-open-banking/01/353110

The CMA regulation does NOT apply to the smaller banks. It only applies to the big 9 banks. So why did you discontinue support? I'm not about to manually upload transactions, so it means I have to switch to another provider such as Sage or Xero -- both which still support MetroBank.

Hello Lesterw1

We have updated our banking connection in order to comply with open banking. We may in the future have a Metro bank connection on open banking but we can not guarantee a date when this would be.We don't want to loose you as a customer,at the moment we are not able to offer anything but CSV upload for that bank

Hi Fairtile,

Thanks for joining this thread. Can I check these are formatted and saved as a CSV file, and whether you are uploading these on a Mac or Windows device?

We understand the bank connection is a valuable feature to customers and we're looking to implement a new connection to Metro Bank in the coming months, you can view our Community Guide linked here to see when this becomes available.

Thanks

Yes it is a .CSV file.

Honestly "in the coming months" is just not a satisfactory answer.
Why stop something (former Metro Bank connectivity) when you do not have a solution yet?

We are paying higher fees to get less service and actually spend more time on booking transactions manually.
Very dissatisfied, if we have to invest time on accounting we will invest time in accounts migration.

I've started the process to move to SAGE.  Thoroughly disappointed with Quickbooks.
