Question

"Why will my manually added mileage trips not save for 2019-20? I enter them and not save but disappears? I am using it on my desktop."

Hi there, @jowatson.

I'd like to provide clarifications regarding how you can prevent your transactions from being missing from your account.

When entering mileage entries or any transactions in the system, it's recommended to ensure that they were saved successfully so it won't disappear. There are times that the page will refresh if your working on the browser and can be the reason why transactions will disappear.

Know that any changes or entry that you're going to make from the browser will automatically sync on your mobile app. The same goes from the app to the browser.

To guide you in manually adding trips in both platforms, please check out this link: Learn how to add a trip to QuickBooks Self-Employed.

However, if you want to save your trips automatically in the system, you'll need to turn on the Auto-tracking feature.

To do that:

  1. Open the QuickBooks mobile app.
  2. Press the menu ☰ icon and then Mileage.
  3. Select Auto-tracking.
  4. Turn on Auto-tracking.

For complete details about this option together with its qualifications, feel free to visit this reference: Learn what to set up to start tracking your business miles.
