I run a small business in the UK. I received a notification that the online accounts and company tax return service is closing on 31 March 2026, and I must find an alternative method for filing once it has. Companies House is transitioning towards filing accounts by software only, as detailed here: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/the-online-accounts-and-company-tax-return-service-is-closing I see that QuickBooks and Intuit are not included on the list of providers for unaudited micro-entity accounts, although I note competitors like Xero, FreeAgent and Sage are. https://www.gov.uk/software-company-accounts/y/unaudited/micro-entity Will you support filing unaudited micro-entity accounts with Companies House in the UK after the online accounts and tax return service closes on 31 March 2026?

QuickBooks Online (QBO) has not yet been listed as a recognized software provider for submitting unaudited micro-entity accounts directly to Companies House post-March 2026, @alastair3.Let me provide more insights about it.

As of now, QuickBooks is committed to providing our customers with seamless accounting solutions, and we are actively working on alternative options to support your needs for filing accounts post-service closure. I suggest consulting with an accountant who can assist you in ensuring that your filings remain compliant or using another third-party provider who can manage to file on your behalf.

If you don’t have an accountant yet, I’d love to help you find a great one. Feel free to visit this page: Find a Pro-Advisor.

Additionally, to keep your VAT information in QuickBooks current, here's how to manually record your VAT payment or refund so that your VAT payable balance is zero.

We can also assist you in generating payroll-related reports to monitor your tax payments. Please utilize the Reply button below if you have any further QuickBooks questions.

@JayneusCaesarR thank you for your reply. My accountant suggested I pose the question here.

> using another third-party provider who can manage to file on your behalf.

This will mean us migrating off QuickBooks—a sizeable headache for us, and the loss of a customer for you.

> we are actively working on alternative options to support your needs for filing accounts post-service closure

I do hope this comes to fruition in time for the service closure next year.
