Hello, @danstaceyelectri. Let me help you fix the issue of creating an expense using the QuickBooks Online (QBO) mobile app.

We can perform mobile troubleshooting steps on your device to ensure the expense types will show up. By doing so, it will help improve the app's performance. Here's how:

To start, relaunch the app and check if the expense types are now showing. If not,  Let's clear the app data.

  1. Go to your device Settings.
  2. Choose Apps.
  3. Select QBO app.
  4. From the Storage, choose clear data.

To clear the app's cache, here's how:

For iPhone:

  1. Go to the Settings icon and select General.
  2. From the iPhone Storage, select the QBO app.
  3. Click Offload App.

For Android:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. find the QBO app.
  3. Click the clear data or clear cache option.

If the same thing happens, restart your device. Then, uninstall and reinstall the app.

In case if you have past receipts or bills that you'd like to upload into the system, you can use this reference for detailed instructions: Manually upload your transactions, receipts, and bills into QuickBooks Online.
