Question

Has anyone else's connection to ABSA bank transactions stopped working?

It provided an error code 106. The bank account still exists so I assume the error is on QuickBooks's side.

It'll be my pleasure to assist you today, Louis. I'll make sure you'll be able to access your bank transactions.

The error message you received means that QuickBooks is unable to locate your Bank or Financial Institution (FI). This usually happens when the account is closed.

If you closed your bank account, you'll need to disconnect it. To do so, check out this article for the detailed steps and additional information: Fix bank error 106.

However, if you haven't closed it, I recommend contacting your bank and checking for updates. Changes made from them can hinder the connection between your bank and QuickBooks.

In the meantime, let's update the connection of your bank to isolate this.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking or Transactions tab.
  2. Select Update.
