Thanks for reaching out. Currently, creating a journal entry and accessing the Employees section are not features available in the app. I would be happy to pass this feedback on to our development team for consideration in a future enhancement. You can certainly still do both by logging in to your QuickBooks Online using a mobile browser.

Please note that while you can record the employees pays in the browser, pay runs are not paid automatically - this will still need to be completed by logging in to your online banking or so on.
