Thanks for posting in the Community! We can perform some troubleshooting steps to get the mileage trips in QuickBooks Online. It is good to know that auto-tracking in the app is enabled. Let's go to your phone's location settings to make sure that QuickBooks Online mobile app can run in the background. Allowing the app to run in background, tracks trips when it's open and active on your screen. Then, update your mobile app to give you access to the latest features and improves app security and stability.

 

On iOS (iPhone and iPad)

 

  1. Go to your iPhone or iPad's Settings.
  2. Scroll down and select the QuickBooks app.
  3. Select Location. Then select Always.
  4. Turn on the Motion & Fitness, Background App Refresh, and Cellular Data options.
  5. Close your settings.
  6. If you see a message about background location use, select Always Allow

 

Note: Don’t select the While Using the App, or Only While Using options. These prevent the app from tracking your mileage consistently.

 

Android have slightly different operating systems, thus the steps vary by device. You can refer on this article on how to manage your Android device's location settings to make sure QuickBooks can run in background.
