Hi There,

My boss has not made payG payment for 2 years now. How do I calculate how much he owes ATO and How much GST he has collected or earned. He says the figures are wrong.

Hi ENDSHC,

Thanks for posting in the Community!

If you're using the QuickBooks Online Payroll and you've created and finalised your pay runs on file, the PAYG Withholding amounts are automatically calculated in the pay run and payroll journals will be exported to your QuickBooks Online chart of accounts.

In the GST page you'll see the PAPYG Withholding amount to be lodged for the said BAS/IAS period.

If the figures are wrong, I'd recommend checking the pay runs you've finalised to review the PAYG amounts calculated. I'd recommend checking the PAYG Withholding report and the Detailed Activity Report for you to easily check the figures. Here's how:

  1. Click on the Employee's tab.
  2. Click on Reports.
  3. Locate and click PAYG Withholding and Detailed Activity Report.
  4. Choose a Date range and Pay schedule.
  5. Click on Run report.

You can also Download and Save the report for your reference.

To check on each pay runs, please use the steps below.

  1. Click on the Employee's tab.
  2. Click on Pay Runs tab.
  3. Select a pay run status like Finalised, and select a Pay schedule.
  4. Click each pay run to open and view the detailed earnings.

You can also check this article to learn more about how PAYG Withholding is reported in QuickBooks Online Reporting PAYG Withholding on BAS and IAS.
