Question

2 QB Business accounts with bank feed linked to one QB account

How can I import banking transactions to the second QB account? I've tried importing the .qbo files but it keeps giving me an error that the bank account is already linked to another account... there are 2 separate bank accounts but the 2nd one is a sub-account to the 1st. So I guess it is recognizing it from my other QB business account?? Help!

Hi kdebets,

Welcome to Communnity!  Your banking is a vital part of your business and it's essential that you're able to upload your transactions effortlessly.  QuickBooks Online has the flexibility you need to accomplish your banking goals.  I'll be happy to assist!

To import your transactions, you'll first download the file from your bank's website in .csv format.  To avoid duplicate entries, I recommend making note of the last transaction in your QuickBooks account.  Here's how;

1. Click on Settings ⚙ (in the top right) and select Chart of accounts

2. Locate the account and click on Account history in the Action column

3. Make note of the last transaction

You're ready to sign into your bank's website and follow the steps to download a list of your transactions in .csv format.  Note; Make sure the date range is at least one day before your last transaction in QuickBooks.  Download and Save the file.  Format the csv file in excel for importing.  Continue with this guide to manually upload your transactions based on accounts connected or not connected to online banking.

If you require additional assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us.  It would be our pleasure to work with you in real time and ensure you're able to successfully upload your transactions and get back to what you love!
