Hi ChelsieC,

It's great to hear that you're working with the inventory module in QuickBooks Online. With the ability to add inventory items to the Products and Services section of the books, you can keep on top of your item sales to customers. The feature to adjust the quantity on hand is handy for when you need to make changes without a sale or purchase, and I want to make sure that this is working correctly for you.

Being mindful of the dates, like you've mentioned you were, is an important part of this process. QuickBooks Online tracks inventory quantities based on dates, so making the adjustment for December 31 shouldn't have touched your inventory added in January. Since it seems to have done so, I recommend opening the adjustment entry to edit it or perhaps even delete it entirely to try again. These articles can help.

That should get you back on track, but if you're still not seeing the results you're expecting, I recommend connecting with a member of our support team outside of the QuickBooks Community forum and they'll be able to guide you through the process. There are a few ways to get in touch, so feel free to choose the one that works best for you.
