Question

Can custom forms and templates be moved to a new QuickBooks server?

Hi,

We recently moved from Quickbooks 2020 to QuickBooks 2023.  I installed a fresh copy of QuickBooks 2023 onto Windows Server 2019 and copied the data file from the old server.  Everything is working as expected, except that custom forms and templates created by the team on the old server are unavailable on the new one.

Is there a way to move the customizations from the old server to the new server?

Thank you!

Hey there Seeker5467,

Thanks for reaching out to us here. Being able to import files correctly into QuickBooks without running into any issues is important. I would be happy to provide some information.

I recommend taking a look at these articles below. These will explain what you can and cannot import, as well as steps on how to import custom templates.

Export, import, and edit IIF files https://intuit.me/3W3FMGr

Use and customize form templates https://intuit.me/3PzcixS

In addition, I recommend reaching out to the support team outside of the Community if you need further assistance. They'll be able to verify your account detail in a secure setting, as well as view your screen to get you back to your QuickBooks goals. You can reach them by following the method in this link.
