Question

Can I import the complete general ledger from sage50 for Fy2021 to QuickBooks online while I already have data for FY2022? Will it have any impact on the existing data?

I am working on an existing file on Quickbooks that already has all 2022-2023 data included (but no beginning balances). But I found the prior year data on an old Sage50 file, can I import it without compromising the data for 2022-2023?

If you believe the ending balance for FY 2021 = the beginning balance for FY 2022, you can import data without worry. As an additional option, use a backup restore app to lower any risks.

Hi maelynn-edouard,

Thanks for reaching out here.  QuickBooks Online enables you to import data seamlessly.  Here's a helpful guide for your reference.  It's important to review the sample file to ensure a smooth transition of the data you want imported.  Of additional note, the spreadsheet must not contain any empty columns or rows.  These will need to be removed to prevent error during the import process.
