Can I link a bank transaction as bill payment?

It's vital that all your transactions are correctly entered so that your accounts can be well balanced. QuickBooks Online is a great tool that allows you to import transactions from your bank in order to match them to the transactions you've created in your books. I can provide some information about matching transactions.

When creating the bill payment, make sure it affects the same account as the bank account connected in the banking tab. If the payment is associated to another bank or credit card account, it will not be able to be matched. Once you've made sure that the transaction affects the correct bank account, you can then go to the banking tab. The transaction may already have a suggested match. If it does, you can click on the Match button to the right of the row. If there isn't a suggested match, click on the Description of the transaction, then Find match. Select the Bill payment from the transactions shown to match it.
