Question

Can I undo all previous syncs from the third party app Jobber and start with a clean set of accounts with zero balances?

Hi doug67,

It's great to see that you're making use of the option to connect third-party services to QuickBooks Online through Apps to enhance your workflow. Once everything is set up the way you'd like it, you should be good to go with working in your books. I can help make sure you have the steps to undo the work you've already done and start fresh.

For situations where things have been entered or synced into QuickBooks, there isn't always an undo button. The first place I recommend checking for one is in the app you use to connect Jobber to QuickBooks Online. Since the data sync is completed by whatever app you've used to connect, finding out if there's a way to undo the previous syncs would also happen from there. If you're not sure how to get in contact with the app support team, here's how you can check that out.

  1. Select Apps in QuickBooks Online.
  2. Go to My Apps.
  3. Click the app you're using to sync Jobber.
  4. Review the contact details in the App information section.

If your sync is via Jobber directly, I recommend contacting Jobber support to find out your options.

In the event there isn't a way to undo the syncs, you can consider manually deleting the transactions and information that was synced. Here are some articles to help.

You may want to keep different accounts, customers, and suppliers, but I've included articles about how to handle those items just in case.

If you'd like to start completely fresh withy your account and zero out everything, including things that weren't entered from Jobber, another option you can consider is purging the account of information. This option is available within the first 90 days of the account being created and can be done by changing the end of the address in the URL bar to include /purgecompany. For instance, if your URL shows https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/homepage, then you'd remove "homepage" and enter "purgecompany" so it looks like this: https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/purgecompany. You'll then see a page that reviews how this works and confirm that you want to continue.

Past 90 days, you can create a brand new account to start with a blank slate. You can even use the same login information. First, log out of your current account, then navigate to qbo.ca. Choose your plan, then select Already have an account? Sign in on the next page to be able to create the second account under the same login details. You'll then be able to use the Switch company option through the Gear icon to switch between your accounts. If you'd like to cancel the other one, this article can help: Cancel your QuickBooks Online subscription

I hope that helps. If you'd like any further clarification on the options, don't hesitate to ask. Have a great day.
