Hi there,

The Mileage Tracking feature in QBO is an awesome tool you can take advantage of for your business. Rather than recording your mileage outside your books, you can now automatically track mileage as you drive! I'll explain how to edit a trip if it wasn't properly accounted for.

QuickBooks Mobile will automatically detect your starting and stopping locations while you’re driving. When you’re finished with your trip you’ll need to categorize it as business or personal.

  1. Tap Mileage.
  2. Swipe right to categorize the trip as personal, or swipe left to categorize it as business.
  3. If it’s a business trip, add a purpose for the trip.
  4. Tap Save.

If your trip didn't record the proper amounts, you'll have to delete the trip and enter it manually.

To delete a trip, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Mileage tab.
  2. Check the box to the left of the trip you need to delete.
  3. Select Delete.

To add the trip manually, follow these steps:

  1. Select Add Trip.
  2. Add the trip date, starting/ending locations, distance, and the trip purpose.
  3. Select Save.

I think it would be really handy to have the option to edit trips after they've been recorded. I'd recommend submitting feedback about this to our team for review by clicking the Gear icon > Feedback.

If you have any other questions, I'd encourage you to reach out to our tech support team.

Cheers.
