Question

Canadian pricing is way more expensive. Why?

Our business has reached the "item list limit" of 14,500 and we're considering upgrading from Desktop Premier to Desktop Enterprise simply to increase this limit. We have no other issues with Premier currently.

Enterprise, on the Canadian QB website, starts at CAD$480 per month for 1-5 users (we only need 2). This increases to CAD$629 per month if you add Advanced Inventory and Advanced Pricing.

Enterprise, on the American QB website, starts at USD$2801 per year for two users, which works out to CAD$325 per month. If you want Advanced Inventory and Advanced Pricing, you can get the Platinum Tier for the equivalent of CAD$376 per month.

To recap (all in CAD):

  • USA, 2 users: $325 per month
  • Canada, 2 users: $480 per month
  • USA, 2 users +AI/AP: $376 per month
  • Canada, 2 users + AI/AP: $629 per month

Why is it so much more expensive in Canada? Why are we literally paying more for less (the US option with AI/AP is still significantly cheaper than the Canadian version without AI/AP).

@Debbie 11  Same reason they keep downgrading their products and upgrading their prices.

In short, because they think they can get away with it.

@Debbie 11

I would recommend to open a new company file. You don't need to upgrade to Enterprise.
