I currently have quickbooks online with 5 different companies/ subscriptions.

I am closing 2 companies and plan to cancel those 2 subscriptions.

How long can I access the data of closed companies on Quickbooks on line if I keep the other 3 companies/ subscriptions?

Please Advise

You can only keep your data for 12 months after cancellation. You may consider to purchase a 3rd party service converting your data to QB Desktop and use the trial version to access your historical data for good.

Hello kim105,

I'm saddened to hear that you will be closing a couple of your companies.  However, we understand that things happen, and decisions must be made. Keeping your QuickBooks Online data on file is essential, for future reference. I would be glad to assist!

QuickBooks Online enables you to export your data, by following the steps in this helpful guide. Once you've downloaded your files, you can proceed with cancelling your account. Please be advised that you will continue to have 'read-only' access to your account for one year from the date of cancellation. This provides you with the opportunity to reactivate your account, or access any other data that you may need.  In addition, if you're subscribed to QuickBooks Online Payroll, you will not have access to any payroll information or associated forms, unless you resubscribe.  For this reason, it's important to complete any payroll tasks, prior to cancelation, such as creating ROE's, paying Remittances, or printing the PD7A, or other forms, as you feel necessary.

Please don't hesitate to reach back out, if you have any other questions or concerns. We would be happy to help!
