condense data

Hi my Premier Contractor Edition desktop file size at almost 400MB is getting large, and I'd like to condense the data as after searching around this seems like the best option for me. However everything I've read says to go to "utilities" then "condense data". I don't have "condense data" as an option in utilities. It doesn't seem to be anywhere else either. Anyone know how to do this?

The Condense Data utilize is only available in QBD US version. You have to purchase a 3rd party service to do so. If you are still using QBD 2021 or an older version, you can also still purchase the one time (outright) license for QBD 2021 if required.

Hi there CCbooks2,

It's vital that your file be set up correctly so that you can work more efficiently in your QuickBooks Desktop software. It's a program able to help you keep track of sales and expenses as well as other company assets and accounts so you can easily view your business financials. I can point you in the right direction for assistance with reducing your file size.

In order to know the best options to reduce your company file's size, I recommend reaching out to the QuickBooks Desktop support team. They'll be able to provide some information about what measures can be taken to reduce the size of your file in order to maximize efficiency in using your software.  You can reach out to them using the methods provided in the QuickBooks Desktop software support policies.

If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out here,

I agree this is a problem.  Our desk top file is getting very big so really need the condensing option.  Support  just advises me to switch to the online software but it doesn't have all the features of desk top so I can't. QB's is painting me into a corner.

@Turtle26

Consider to purchase a 3rd party condense service as I mentioned earlier.

I saw your suggestion of third party condensing software but honestly, I already pay so much money per month and for so many years I feel the option should be offered with the program and not have to pay for an outside solution.
