Question

creating purchase order from multiple order estimates

We receive a lot of pre-orders from retailers for items that are not in our inventory or even on order yet.  These are entered in as new products and order estimates in QuickBooks and am looking for a way to pull all of these pre-orders into one PO for our manufactures.  Is there a way to view all these pre-order numbers or pull them into a purchase order?

Hi DandB7,

I hear what you're saying, and I can see how that would be very beneficial in your line of business. QuickBooks Online is a scaled-down version of the QuickBooks product designed for easy access when you're on the move. This connection between invoices and purchase orders is not something that is an available option. However, I do have a suggestion.

In QuickBooks Online, the relationship between the Accounts Payable and the Accounts Receivable accounts would be items that are marked billable to the client or assigned on a cost basis to the customer's job. There isn't a way to connect an invoice to a purchase order. You may find a third-party app that could bridge that for you. Go to the Apps in the left navigation menu. You can browse through the apps for one that'll integrate with QuickBooks Online. You can also share your thoughts with the product development team by:

  1. Go to the Gear Icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Fill in what you'd like to share, and click Submit feedback.

Feel free to reach back out if you have any questions. Have a fantastic night!
