I am trying to reconcile my credit card.  I have entered all the charges & when I go to reconcile them, they are not there.  I have the payment account listed as my preferred CC, and payment method listed as my preferred CC.  When I reconcile this CC, they are not listed.  What am I doing wrong?!

Hello there, ctshand. There are a couple of reasons why the transactions are not showing when reconciling your credit cart account. I'm here to expand on this below.

Firstly, could you provide some details on how you recorded the charges? It would be helpful to know if you followed the steps outlined in this article:  Record your payments to credit cards in QuickBooks Online. Understanding your method will allow us to offer more specific advice.

Here are a few common reasons why transactions might not appear:

  • The transactions may have already been reconciled.
  • You may be viewing the incorrect statement date or using filters that prevent the transaction from appearing.
  • The transaction could be marked as 'Excluded'.

To investigate this, please navigate to the register of your credit card and check if the transactions in question are marked as reconciled (indicated by an 'R' symbol). If they are, you can click on the 'R' symbol until it turns blank to unreconcile them.

Next, go to the Bank transactions page, select your credit card's bank tile, and click on the 'Excluded' tab. If the transactions are found there, simply undo them to move them back to the 'For Review' tab.

You can check this article for more guidance about the reconciliation workflow: Learn the reconcile workflow in QuickBooks.

Additionally, you can run a reconciliation report to get an overview of that session's reconciliations data: View, print, or export a reconciliation report in QuickBooks Online.
