I posted multiple credit card charges to the wrong account- did this for 2 months.  Is there an easy way of moving all the charges to the correct account without having to redo each one?

Hello,

I know how important it is to allocate the correct account to your credit card charges. Making sure everything is being recorded correctly will make you feel confident in your business bookkeeping. I'll help point you in the right direction to get this sorted out.

If you've posted multiple credit card charges to the wrong account, you can either undo your reconciliation and redo it, or write a journal entry to move the funds.

If you decide to undo the reconciliation, follow the steps in this article: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Desktop. As explained in this article, if you need to start over from scratch, you can select Undo Last Reconciliation.

If you're looking for a quicker way to move these funds into the correct account, simply create a journal entry. Here's how: Create a journal entry in QuickBooks Desktop

In this case, I'd recommend undoing your reconciliation and redoing it, as this will make the changes reflect more accurately and detailed in your books. Of course, it's always a good idea to consult your accountant to see the best method for your business.
