Default tax rate selection

Our default tax rate selection in setting is set to "Exclusive of Tax" and when I go to enter a bill it comes up as default.  But we use a construction management software that is integrated to QBO and when a bill comes over it is always "Inclusive of Tax".  We are entering invoices into the software as pre-tax and wanting QBO to calculate the tax on top of the amount that comes from the software.  How do I get QBO to receive the bills exclusive of tax?

Hello there, @BradaJB,

I want to make sure you're able to import your transactions properly in QuickBooks, especially invoices with taxes. While QuickBooks is only a receiver of the information from your third-party software, we need to have you work directly with their support provider. They control the information being sent to our program, including the the tax options.

For now, what you can do in QuickBooks is to manually update the tax option on the invoice manually after they are imported.

Come back here anytime if you have other questions with the import and sales tax processes in QuickBooks Online. We're always here to help you out. Have a good one!
