Question

Did QBO remove "Classes" from use?

Hello,

While doing data entry yesterday, I noticed that the "class" allocation is gone. I went into the Item List, and I also cannot see the default class allocation on individual items and services.

Has QBO removed "classes" or did something happen on our end that resulted in me not being able to access it any longer?

Thank you!

Hi Bluestocking_Bookkeeper,

Thanks for reaching out here.  Using Classes in QuickBooks Online is a great feature for tracking your transactions by meaningful segments of your business.  I'd be happy to provide some insight here!

One of the first areas of interest when Classes is no longer an available option on your account, would be your subscription.  Classes are only available in QuickBooks Online Plus.  If there's been a recent change in your QuickBooks product, you wouldn't have access to this feature.  However, I'd also recommend clearing cache on your browser to improve system performance and loading times.  If you still can't see classes, follow these steps to check your QuickBooks Online subscription;

1. Log into the account as the Primary Admin

2. Open Settings ⚙ and then Account and settings

3. Select Billing and subscription from the left menu

4. Review the QuickBooks Online product

Here's how to upgrade your QuickBooks Online account if necessary.

Please don't hesitate to reach back out with other questions.  We'd love to help!
