I  missed the time deadline today to have payroll submitted through QBO.  If I submit it by midnight on Thursday will our employees still get paid on Friday?

Hi Chinson4,

Welcome to Community!  QuickBooks Online Payroll is a dynamic way to pay your staff with confidence.  It's important that payroll is submitted based on the lead time indicated in your payroll account.  I'd be happy to provide more information so you're on the right track with your payroll goals!

With QuickBooks Online Payroll it's important to submit the information to Intuit before 5:00 PM (PT) at least two banking days before the pay date.  Direct deposit payroll is electronically sent to Intuit's Automatic Clearing House for processing and Intuit will debit your bank account one banking day before the paycheque date.  With that being said, submitting payroll before midnight, on the eve of the pay date, will result in your employees not receiving their funds as scheduled.  In situations where the pay date falls on a bank holiday, the direct deposit will be delayed due to bank closures.  In this situation, it's best to submit the payroll in advance to ensure employees receive their direct deposit.  Otherwise you can change the Pay Method to Paper Cheque and process payroll to access the pay stubs.  Following this, you'll need to pay your employees via e-transfer to ensure they're paid on time.

Please don't hesitate to reach back out, if you have other questions or concerns.  We'd be glad to assist!
