Question

Does anyone else have missing transactions on their banking online accounts? The transaction is on my statement, I have the receipt, it doesn't show up when I upload

Hi there rattleurdags,

It's vital that all your transactions are correctly entered in your books so that your bank balance in QuickBooks is correct. QuickBooks Online is a great tool able to import transactions from your bank in order to have them ready for you to categorize. I can provide some information about missing transactions.

One way you could import missing transactions would be to download a file from your bank's website that includes the dates of the missing transactions and import it into QuickBooks Online. The file extensions available include.csv files, .qbo (QuickBooks) files, .ofx (Open financial exchange) files and .txt files. You can follow the steps provided in this article about how to manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online. One thing to note here is that there may be some transactions included in this file that has already been imported from your bank since usually these files offered by the bank include an entire month's transactions. You would need to remove these duplicate transactions by excluding them in the Banking tab. You can do this by putting a checkmark beside it, and selecting Exclude from the Batch actions.

If only one transaction is missing, importing a month's worth of transactions again only to exclude all but one might seem like a process that's complicated. Another option would be to just manually create the transaction in QuickBooks by navigating to the +New menu and selecting the transaction type you want to create.
