Question

Does anyone know how to restore the "Preview the PDF" in QBO using Google Chrome? No PDF Preview when you print, you need o open the file to view. Any Help?

When going to Print Preview, when the PDF normally previews I only have a little blue box that says "Open" instead of viewing the document.

Hi @rochelle-aissolu , welcome to the community. It's very important to preview you document before printing or submitting for accuracy. If you are using a windows operating systems, try these steps to see if it fixes the issues.

Your PDF file extension is associated with internet explorer. Change the file association for .PDF to Adobe Acrobat reader.

Detailed steps.

  1. Go to the Control Panel.
  2. Change the view to Category on the top right corner of the window.
  3. Go to Program -> Default Programs ->Make a file type always open in a specific program (Control Panel\Programs\Default Programs\Set Associations) > look for .pdf in the list

Click on .pdf > Change program… > select Adobe from the list (install it if it’s not there) and press Ok

Now open again and try previewing the PDF file. You should be able to preview it.

Additional information:

Please install Adobe Acrobat reader if not installed already on your PC, if that the OS.

Or follow these steps if that does not work:

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. Click the three dots placed in the top right corner of the browser.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Open the Advanced menu.
  5. Select Reset and clean up from the left menu bar, can be found below systems in the sidebar at extreme bottom left.
  6. Under Reset and clean up, click Restore settings to their original default

Have an amazing weekend!
