Question

Does the Quickbooks Payment module handle e-Transfers and ACH in Canada, or is it only for credit card transactions? It seems CC-only, but I'd like to confirm.

Hi john124,

QuickBooks Payments helps you get paid 2X faster, and lets you skip the trip to the bank! I know how handy this service is, and I'd be happy to explain whether or not you can process e-transfer and ACH transactions through the Payments platform.

At this time, Payments only accepts four types of Canadian credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, Apple Pay, and Discover. I think having the option for ACH or to pay by debit would be great, and I'd be happy to submit feedback about this to my team.

I'd suggest submitting feedback on your end as well. You can do this by clicking the Gear icon > Feedback

If you're looking for more information regarding Payments, take a look here: Accept Payments Online

You can also reach out to our tech support team if you have further questions.

Have a great day!

Hello goderichmartialarts,

Thanks for sharing your interest in having e-transfers and ACH as options for QuickBooks Online's Payments feature in Canada. I know this can make a big difference for businesses, and our goal is to provide you with the tools to help you more easily conduct your business.

I don't have an ETA that I can share for when this feature might be available. In these kinds of situations, I encourage users to submit feedback to add to the volume of interest for a specific feature, and that's what I encourage you to do now. Comments left through QuickBooks Online's built-in Feedback tool are forwarded to the product development team for consideration, so the more voices, the better. Here's how you can leave feedback: How do I submit feedback?

In the meantime, you can consider other methods for accepting e-transfers and ACH from your customers, such as third-party applications found through the Apps tab or even other solutions outside of QuickBooks Online.

All the best to you!

We've been waiting years for Quickbooks to add E-transfer option to payments, I don't think it will ever happen as they don't make much off the fee compared to credit card. Intuit needs to get back into the game of helping small business rather than being a payment processor.

Have you explored these apps as options for CA companies?
