I received a download notification email saying the latest version of QB Desktop is now available and it gave me a new license number and product number.  In order to do the update, it says to click on "Get Started" to access the links.  I don't see the download links.  When I click on "Get started", it takes me to a page that thinks I just bought QB and is walking me through having a new product.  Why did I get new license and product numbers?  I went to the Help in QB and did the update.  Do I need the new numbers?

Thanks for reaching out to us here.  QuickBooks Desktop 2024 is now available and it's important that you're able to update your product to the latest release.  I'd be happy to assist!

 

To ensure you have the best experience with QuickBooks, I suggest taking a moment to review the system requirements, noted here.  Once you're ready to update QuickBooks, follow these steps;

 

1. Close your company files and QuickBooks

2. Open QuickBooks Desktop as Administrator

3. While on the No Company Open screen, go to the Help menu and select Update QuickBooks Desktop

4. From the Options tab, select Mark All and hit Save

5. Go to the Update Now tab and checkmark the Reset Update box

6. When you're ready, click Get Updates

7. When the update is complete, close and reopen QuickBooks Desktop. To install the updates, select Yes

8. When the installation is complete, restart your computer.
