Question

Duplicated bank transactions that I have excluded and deleted keep coming bank as to be reviewed. I have excluded and deleted these 3 transactions several times.

I have even tried accpepting these transactions and made offsetting with my clearing account in hopes to finally remove them but they just keep coming back for review. These are interest deposits over 3 months time.  I can not get these 3 transactions to stop re down loading for review.

Hi uniquepools,

 

I appreciate you reaching out to us here.  Having deleted transactions return to your bank feeds can become time consuming.  QuickBooks Online provides the option to exclude duplicate entries, to keep your accounts accurate.  I'd be glad to help!

 

When you exclude or delete transactions, they should no longer appear in your bank feed.  However, when they just won't disappear from your books, it's because you have a Bank Rule set up for the associated transactions.  To successfully and permanently delete the transaction, you'll need to Disable the bank rule, then proceed to exclude/delete the transactions.  Once they've been successfully deleted, you can make the bank rule active again.  

 

Here's how to disable the bank rule;

 

1. From the left menu, open Banking, then Rules

2. Checkmark the box beside the associated bank rule

3. Use the ▼ dropdown menu on the Batch Actions menu and select Disable

Or

  • Locate the bank rule in the list and select Edit
  • Review the details to ensure it's the rule associated with the transactions you need to exclude/delete
  • Scroll down and 'toggle off' Automatically confirm transactions this rule applies to
  • Hit Save
