Question

Error while trying to reclassify income

I currently have income associated to "47000 Services" and would like to reclassify them to a new subaccount I created "47030 Non Profit", however when I try to reclassify the income I receive an error message stating

"We can't apply those changes

One or more of those changes cannot be reclassified. It may be that you tried to change the account on certain transactions which is not allowed."

Fairly new to Quickbooks and (re)classifying income in this manner, any help would be much appreciated!

To get started, it's important to make sure you're following the right steps in order to reclassify your transactions. That being said, I encourage you to check out the following article as it shows you step-by-step how to: Reclassify or move transactions in QuickBooks. Also, based on the prompt you're getting, I recommend double-checking your transactions to make sure there aren't transactions that match the criteria described in the prompt you're receiving.
