I am trying to load QB on my laptop to work from home during COVID 19.

I have updated the program, as I had a very old one in CD form.  Now that I have it loaded, it won't take the restore info that I had downloaded onto a flash drive from my office.  It keeps telling me to update the program.  Which I have done 2xs and it just

If you have QuickBooks Desktop 2018 or newer, you can use the Migrator Tool that comes with QuickBooks. It's simple and fast to use. Check it out here:

Hi there,

It's vital you're able to install QuickBooks on your laptop so you can work from home. I'll be happy to share more information on this.

I appreciate you going through the steps of updating the program. To avoid any issues with installing the program, it's important to note that you have at least a 2-user license to enable the multi-user feature. The multi-user mode in QuickBooks allows multiple users to install and use the same company file at the same time over a server network.

To learn more about the multi-user feature, you can check this article: Set up and install a multi-user network for QuickBooks Desktop.

For steps on how to install the program, check out this helpful article: Install QuickBooks Desktop.

James - I already have it set up on my server and have been using it for years.  I need to know how to load it on my laptop.  I used the CD I had, but that was from 2011 and it wouldn't work.  It asked me to get update, which I did.  Then when I went to upload my latest backup, it said you don't have the latest version, please update.

As I had already updated (2xs) I did not try again.  I can;t go in to my server to get what I need from there.

What can I do to get this working on my laptop?  Diane
