Hi there steve-prolinz,

Entering transactions for your customers is a big part of managing your books, so I want to make sure you're able to create them as you need. Knowing more about what's stopping you from creating a new transaction with a customer is a key part of getting you back to business, but don't worry, I'll get you started with some troubleshooting.

First, I'd like to direct you to two of the main areas for creating transactions for your customers: the +New button in the left menu and the customer profile. To get to the customer profile, you can simply hover over Sales in the left menu, choose Customers, then click the name of the customer. On the profile, you'll see the New transaction button. When you use the +New button, simply choose the transaction type, then select the customer name from the drop-down.

If those are what you're doing, but the program isn't letting you complete the steps, the next best course of action is to troubleshoot. Since QuickBooks Online is a cloud software, the following steps are useful for ruling out browser, app, or Internet issues causing the problem. Try these out.

For further assistance, the QuickBooks Online support team outside of the Community forum can help you out. When you're working with support, be sure to share details such as error messages and descriptions about what's going on. Here's how to get in touch.
