How can I assign Class to "Transfer" transaction type? I managed to do the assignment through Reclassify function for some , but not all, Transfer transactions. When I tried to correct the remaining ones, I could not find Class field in Transfer template.

Hi maulet-sab,

Being able to use the class feature is essential to keep track of your transactions by class. I'll be glad to provide you with some information on the class feature on the transfer transactions.

QuickBooks Online doesn't offer the option to assign a class when recording a transfer. The workaround available to accountants is to use the reclassify transactions feature to assign a class to a transfer transaction type.  You can access the Reclassify transactions option by clicking on the Accountant Tools tab at the top from your accountant firm.

If you aren't not able to select a class when reclassifying the transactions, the problem may be with the browser cache and cookies. These prevent the system from working efficiently. I recommend that you follow these steps to complete the browser troubleshooting.

If you wish to include the class option on transfer transactions in QuickBooks, I encourage you to send us Feedback under the Gear icon at the top. This is sent to our team developer  to be considered for future updates.

Let me know if you have any questions, I'll be happy to help.

Thanks for the response Henock. I did use the Reclassify function. But it worked only for SOME (not for all) Transfer transactions. Do you know why it's not working for ALL Transfer transactions?

Hi maulet-sab,

Welcome back to Community!  In review of the previous posts, it looks like you're well on your way, with the exception of some transactions that didn't transfer.  I'd be happy to provide additional information for Reclassifying Transactions.

There are certain types of transactions that you won't be able to move if they're associated to specific accounts.  For instance, you can't change the class for inventory adjustments because they're connected to asset accounts and inventory shrinkage.  I recommend reviewing the transactions individually to assess the details.  In addition, items marked as Out of Scope or have a discount applied, cannot be reclassified. To learn more about what cannot be reclassified, click here.  I hope this helps!
