Question

How can I see newly created customer accounts?

I am trying to find a newly created account that was set up in the last 3 months.  The name on the account was not set up properly so I cannot locate it by name.  So I am wondering if there is a way in QB Desktop v2013, to see customer accounts that were created recently, either via a sort function or a report.

Hi there,

It's important you're able to check your account history to ensure accuracy. I'll be happy to give you a hand with this so you can get back to doing what you love.

Based on what you've described, I recommend using the Audit Trail report. The audit log feature allows you to see history of changes made to individual transactions or a range of multiple transactions.  Tracked changes also include:  changes to the chart of accounts or products and services list; sending, deleting and modifying invoices or bills,  adding and matching payments and deposits, and when accounts were reconciled.

Here's how to access the report:

  1. Go to “Reports”
  2. Select “Accountant and Taxes
  3. Click “Audit Trail"

I hope this info helps. In case you have other questions, feel free to contact our support team using this link here.
