How can we change the category of an item from "inventory" to "non-inventory"? Thanks so much.

QuickBooks Online is a powerful program that offers the ability to simply track your product and inventories for your business. I'd be glad to provide you with some information regarding the change of an inventory item to a non-inventory item.

At the moment, QuickBooks Online does not provide the option to change an inventory item to a non-inventory item as it's done for a non-inventory item or a service from product settings. If you wish to change an inventory item to another type, you can simply sell what you have in stock. When the quantity is zero, make the inventory item inactive. Then you can create a new non-inventory or service item to replace it.
