Hello vynto,

Tax season is fast approaching, and I'm glad to see you're getting prepped by looking into things like GIFI files. I'll go over the options when it comes to working with GIFI in QuickBooks Online so you can move forward with this.

If you're using QuickBooks Online EasyStart, Essentials, or Plus, there isn't currently a way to see, use, or export GIFI files or codes. When you're working with an accountant, however, they have the tools they need via their accountant access to your QuickBooks to work with the GIFIs on your behalf. In the event you are the accountant and you're asking this question because you're getting started with a client, you'll also have access to those same tools I just mentioned in your QuickBooks Online Accountant account.

There are a few articles in the QuickBooks Community that can help with the tool available to accountant users, Workpapers, for GIFI codes and mapping. Whether you're the accountant looking for a reference point or a QuickBooks Online user looking to share information with your accountant, here are ones you can start with.

As a regular QuickBooks Online user looking to work with an accountant, you can check out the Find a pro to help button in the My Accountant tab. Searching with your postal code or city, this feature will bring up a list of QuickBooks-certified accountants near you. If you already have an accountant, the My Accountant tab also has a field to invite them on as an accountant user on your QuickBooks.

I hope that helps shed some light on this for you. Don't hesitate if you have more questions.
