Hello Golfwardy62,

The Trips feature in QuickBooks Self-Employed is a fantastic way to keep on top of your travel and account for it in your books. It's good to familiarize yourself with how the program works to ensure ultimate accuracy when recording these details, and I'm here to help sort this out.

QuickBooks Self-Employed likes to keep things simple. In light of that, the options for entering the vehicle information, including kilometers, is also simple. Here's how it goes. Follow these steps when logged in via browser.

  1. Select Trips from the left menu.
  2. Hover over the Add trip button and choose Vehicle summary (Note: You can also achieve this by clicking Show Vehicle Drawer in the Business km section).
  3. Click the Pencil icon on an existing vehicle or click Add Vehicle to enter a new one.
  4. Enter the kilometers into the Total km driven in 2020 box.
  5. Hit Save when done.

You can learn more about this, including how to navigate the app version, here: About the Trips page and vehicle info settings. If you'd like a little extra help working with this section, reach out to the QuickBooks Self-Employed team directly. Follow these steps in a browser.

  1. Click Assistant.
  2. Type and enter "talk to human."
  3. Follow the prompts to speak with an agent.

Check out the Contact QuickBooks Self-Employed article to learn how to find the Assistant feature in your version of the app.

I hope that helps! Have a great rest of your day. :)
