Question

How do I print a Credit Note that shows only the available Credit balance?

I have a customer who requires a copy of their Credit Note that shows they have utilized a portion of their available Credit. This should be standard when printing a Credit Note that has a portion applied.

Yes I am very aware of how to print a statement.  But that was not my question. I was asking about the Credit Notes and why they are not printing with the available balance on them.

When you print a Invoice that has been partially paid, you see the payment that has been made, and the remaining balance of the invoice.  So why when you utilize a portion of your Credit Note does it not do the same thing and show the available balance?

Hi sescott1988-gmai,

Thank you for the additional information for what you'd like to see on your customer invoice with regards to their remaining credit balance.  There's currently no option for this to be displayed when creating a customer invoice.  If this is something you'd like to see available in future updates, you can forward a suggestion to our Development Team.  However, in the meantime, you could run a report to see the credit balance for the customer.  I'd be glad to show you how!

Follow these steps to create the report:

1. Select Reports from the left menu

2. Enter Transaction List by Customer into the search field

3. Open the Customize option in the top right and enter the Report period

4. Choose Filter and set the Transaction Type to Credit Memo

5. Select the Customer using the dropdown arrow

6. Checkmark any additional filters as you see fit

7. When finished, hit Run report

Let us know if you have any other questions.  We're here for you!
