How to change legal name in quick books

Hello community: I realized that I have entered the wrong legal name in QuickBooks. QB is showing correct Company name but legal name is wrong due to which my online payment setup doesn't go through and this name doesn't match with CRA. So, what's the way to change legal name in my account of QB?

It's great to see you in Community.  Welcome!  QuickBooks Online has the versatility you need in times like this.  You can change your company information seamlessly and get back to what you love.  I'd be happy to show you how!

 

Follow these steps to change the Company name and Legal name;

 

1. Log into your QuickBooks Online account

2. Open Settings ⚙ in the top right and select Account and settings

3. Choose Company from the left menu

4. Select the Edit ✎ to the right of the Company name section

5. Make the necessary changes

Note: If the company's legal name isn't the same as the company name, remove the checkmark beside Same as company name and type in the company's legal name.

6. When finished, hit Save and then Done

 

Here's how to change the Business number;

 

1. Select the Edit ✎ to the right of the Contact info section

2. Click on the Edit ✎ in the Company name section

3. Enter the Business number

4. Hit Save and then done
