How to close the books for 2020 \

QuickBooks Online is a great program for small business owners looking to take their financials to another level. I'll be happy to assist by showing you how to close your books using simple steps. 

Here's how to close your books:

1. Click on the Gear ⚙ and then select Accounts and Settings.
2. Select the Advanced tab.
3. Hit Edit ✎ in the Accounting section.
4. Click on the Close the books checkbox.
5. Enter a closing date and give yourself a deadline that's easy to adhere to for you. You shouldn't need to edit any transactions before this date. Your new bookkeeping work will start after this point.
6. Select the Allow changes after viewing a warning and entering a password option from the drop-down menu if you want to require a password before editing your closed books.
7. Select Save and then Done.
