Question

I am trying to move from desktop to online, and there is supposed to be an option on desktop to automatically transfer the QB file, but I don't have that option.

Are you using an older QB Desktop version or Enterprise edition? You may visit this reference

Make sure you have open a QBO account prior to migrate

This option may not be available in QB Enterprise. The file may need to be
downgraded to QB Premier or Pro for the conversion to QBO.

A third party professional service can convert your QuickBooks Enterprise data file to
Premier, Pro, Accountant, or QuickBooks Online with 100% financial accuracy. The
conversion includes all data including Payroll and service subscriptions that you may
have, including all lists, transactions, users, payroll and templates. All data files are
transmitted via secure servers (SSL encrypted) to ensure safety and security during
transmission.
