I have referred 2 friends and both of them have active QB subscriptions through my link and discount. My referral updates still say no one used my code! Is this common?

Thanks for inviting your friends to join the QuickBooks family! I love that you're enjoying the program so much that you'd like others to as well. The Refer a Friend program is a great way to share what QuickBooks has to offer, and I want to make sure that your referrals have successfully entered our system.

 

Since your friends are saying they used the link and got the discount, it sounds like things have gone through correctly. There are a few key things to keep in mind when working with the Refer a Friend program that I'll share with you here and could explain why you're seeing that no one has used your code.

 

If you referred your friends via email on the QuickBooks Online Referral Program page, the important part of the process is that they signed up for their QuickBooks Online accounts using the email you sent the referral to. This helps our system recognize when someone has used your link to make sure that you're eligible for the referral reward. If your friends didn't use that same email, that could be what's causing the problem.

 

Next, it's important to note that the referral is for QuickBooks Online exclusively. If you're using QuickBooks Desktop or even QuickBooks Online Accountant, those don't qualify for this program.

 

Once your friends have signed up, there's a 90 day processing period from that moment they signed up. It could simply be that our back-end system hasn't gone through with processing your friends' referrals yet.
