Hi there,

Ensuring that your bank account matches what's been entered into QuickBooks is so important. I'd be happy to shed some light on why you may be seeing double the balance in QuickBooks Online.

If your bank register balance in QuickBooks doesn't match your actual bank balance, there may be a number of factors causing this discrepancy. You'll have to first verify what's causing the incorrect balance to then make the necessary adjustments.

Balances may not match for a number of reasons:

  • Outstanding transactions
  • New transactions for a connected account
  • Duplicate transactions (e.g. if you've added the transaction from the bank feed as well as adding them into QBO manually)
  • Edited or deleted transactions
  • Credit card (liability) account

Take a look at this article: Fix issues when you're reconciling accounts in QuickBooks Online. This article explains what to do if your balances don't match when you go to reconcile your accounts.
