I've entered a journal entry in which the credits and debits balance but am getting an error message saying that they don't What do I do?

I've resorted to entering each receipt as a separate journal entry (was entering the cash expenses for the month of March). Although this fixed the problem, it meant I had to do ten journal entries instead of one, which was time consuming and frustrating.
