Hi blakneyelectric,

It's great to see you here in Community!  It's important that your inventory items and quantity on hand are accurate in all areas of your bookkeeping records.  There are times when you'll discover that the items differ with what's indicated in QuickBooks Online.  Not to worry, we've got you covered!  You can make adjustments to the quantity without recording a transaction, to match what's in stock.  I'd be glad to show you how!

To enter an inventory adjustment, follow these steps:

1. Select + New from the left menu

2. Choose Inventory Qty Adjustment under the 'Other' column

3. Enter the Adjustment Date

4. Frpm the Inventory Adjustment Account drop-down, select the appropriate account

5. Choose the products in the Product field

Note: The description and current quantity on hand auto-populate

6. For each item, enter a new quantity or change the current

7. In the Memo field, enter an identifier as you see necessary

8. When finished, select Save and close

When you save the adjustment, it automatically records it to your stock Asset and Cost of Goods Sold, (under stock shrinkage) accounts.

You're all set!

Please feel free to reach back out if you have any other questions.  We'd be happy to help!
